Happy Birthday Kaylee!

Thursday is a special day for a couple reasons.  It is Kaylee’s birthday, AND it is her 18th birthday… that’s a big one.  I remember my 18th birthday.  I was watching Saturday morning cartoons and I learned that bubbles were made from diluted soap…. like the wash your hands kind of soap, but I think it’s a special kind of soap.  Anyways, Kaylee comes in with Joe at 6am and was a high school softball superstar.  She was going to attend the University of Hawaii until CrossFit became her main focus.  They don’t have a gym as good as CFLOTW there so she decided to stay here and attend NMSU and be an AGGIE.  A fun fact of how CrossFit has helped her.  Kaylee has had shoulder problems all her life.  She’s seen the doctors and done the therapy, but her shoulder constantly would dislocate…. like a lot.  Joe told me when she first started that they could even be walking somewhere and it’d dislocate randomly.  At first I tried to talk up the Crossover Symmetry system that we have on the Rogue rig and how it’s amazing and does wonders… she was like, “Uh yea, I’ve done a lot of that in therapy,” then I went and sat in my office and stared at my picture of Dizzy.  After months of CF training her shoulders are stronger and healthier now.  I use to see her shoulders go out during some of our workouts and she’d just make a face and pop that sucker into place and get back to the workout.  I’d rush over and ask if she was ok and she said yea and then resume the workout….. I’d go to my picture of Dizzy when that happened.  I don’t even remember now when the last time her shoulder has dislocated.  Let’s all wish Kaylee a very happy birthday tomorrow the CFLOTW way by coming in and doing this workout tomorrow!
