Take Off The Lenses

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving…. wow.  I just can’t wrap my head around it.  The weather hasn’t really helped validating that, and the stillness in the atmosphere is a little toneless with anticipation…. but it’s here.  I wasn’t thrilled that this closure happened during this time, but I can’t say I wasn’t surprised also as that thought had been hanging over my thoughts since we re-opened in June.  But maybe it isn’t all bad.  If we take the lenses off and see what else could be behind through a different prospective, then maybe we can see something else.  This is, after all, the holiday of giving thanks… and I couldn’t think of a better way to get thanks out of what really matters by adding some pressure.  There are in nature some of the most beautiful things produced by pressure.  Diamonds and the usefulness of coal are made by some of the most harsh forms of pressure.  I have never been to the Grand Canyon, but I hear it is breathtaking.  Pressure is all around.  Life is full of it, surrounded by it, and we’ll continue to be part of the cycle.  Watch any Disney or Pixar movie and they understand that well.  I am thankful for my family.  I’ve seen so many of them go, and time waits on no one.  I have wonderful parents, loving sister, beautiful nieces that I adore, and a new nephew that was born in a time that will alter his world from the moment he came into it.  I am thankful for the health that I have, and the body given to me and all that I can do.  I am thankful for opportunities I have, some personal, and others like knowing you all that have, and continue to, walk through those doors at the gym.  That’s what I see.  That’s what I send my prayers on.  Pressure rises and falls like the sun, it’s part of the delicate balance in the great cycle of life (Roar).  It can be seen in many ways with a pair of different lenses.
