Worth The Wait

New Mexico had its first loss from COVID-19.  How far, or close, does something have to be to hit home to you?  New Mexicans always pridefully use the words “We” and “Us” when we make a statement.  When I say the best cowboys come from New Mexico it includes the entire state.  That’s great and wonderful and beautifully recognized when we protect and support our own.  When I say the best cowboys come from New Mexico I mean all of New Mexico… and because we do!  Texas does this within their state.  California as well.  So on and so forth.  But, so do northern and southern areas within New Mexico.  I think southern NM food is waaaay better than northern… but I know some that disagree.  So, how close does something have to be to hit home to you?  I think it comes in degrees, not styles and forms.  We are in this nationally, in this amazing USofA, and yes, each state is managing and mandating according to their own states best interest, but to have “Our” first fatality in New Mexico…. it sure as hell hits home to me.  The state’s economy will no doubt take a hit… but I sure hope those efforts are sacrificed to save at least one life.  That’ll be enough for me.
