Back Squat 1RM and Hot Wings

I have an idea that I been really excited about and can’t stop thinking about.  Above is a video from a YouTube Channel called “First We Feast.”  They have a segment that they call “Hot Ones,” where they bring celebrities onto their show and ask them questions while they eat 10 spicy wings.  I think very similar to why we enjoy watching the CrossFit games, or even an NFL games, is watching celebrities do what we do and see that they are just people like us.  I love watching the CF Games and seeing those athletes struggle on a workout…. I just LOVE IT!  Haha, most because we have all been there. So,  I want to take that concept and share that locally at our gym with all of you guys.  I feel it’ll be a fun get together, that some of you have mentioned to me you want more of, where the following Monday when your coworkers ask, “What did you do this weekend?” You can reply, “At my super cool gym, with my super cool coach, we ate these hot wings that are on this YouTube channel that are the hottest wings on the planet!”  They will then give you a high five, and look for you and add you on their Instagram.  I am planning to have our chicken wing feast on the 28th of this month… that is next weekend.  The bottles are small and I will need preparation of have enough wings for everyone, so if you can RSVP on the back white board in the gym, I would greatly appreciate it.  I have a fun surprise that Victoria Cueto and I are planning, so stay tuned for that… Ok spoiler!!! I am going to interview her just like they do on “Hot Ones!”  Disclaimer though of the video above.  There is some foul language in the video, just so you are aware…. but still very entertaining!

Alas the long awaited and anticipated 1 Rep Max Back Squat.  You guys have done thousands of squats… so put that to use and GET AFTER IT TOMORROW.  Spend as much time needed to get that heavy single.  I wanna hear that bell ring!!

One more thing.  Don’t forget about the flag football game we’ll have this Saturday!  It will be in substitution of Brosesh.  Some of you guys do a good job of using your fitness outside of these four walls.  Weather that be the demands of your job, going hiking, playing with your kids, or sports.  I, on the other hand don’t do much other than DJ throughout the day.  CrossFit is about increasing your work capacity across broad time and modal domain… sometimes we get stuck into only using that fitness inside the gym.  We build that capacity in my laboratory, a safe and controlled environment, so that we can take it outside into the real world (because the Matrix is dream world keeping us from the truth as we stay in wonderland).  I smell a conspiracy theory!  Hope to see you all there!

***OPEN SEASON IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER (Hence the thrusters and more T2B’s)!  UTILIZE OPEN GYM AND WORK ON THOSE LESSER DEVELOPED AREAS IN YOUR WORK CAPACITY THAT CAN USE A LITTLE ATTENTION***
