September 11th… We Will Never Forget

Registration for the Open is live!! I love how big we make this event at our gym. I always see some amazing stuff from you guys and I look forward to it all year!  A huge change this year as most of you know… the will now be help in the fall.  It begins October 10th with the release of what the first workout 20.1 will be.  If you have never done the Open before or don’t know much about it.  Ask around with some of the other members or your coach.  It is a 5 week competition that we get to do here in our own gym, and submit score on your online profile.  It is a great way to see your progress from year to year and equally a great way to push yourself to new intensities and overcoming obstacles all with the people you workout with everyday.  More on the Open later.  Start preparing, start talking, and start those Open registration screenshots!  I can’t wait… It’s guna be awesome!!

I wrote about the Open before writing about 9/11. These topics were not meant to blend, but I mean no disrespect having them both in the same blog. I originally wasn’t going to write about 9/11 as I wasn’t personally effected, but it made such an impact that this beautiful country was never the same.

11th Of September Year 2019

We will never forget. I remember watching tv and it came out as i was getting ready for school. my friends on the bus didn’t here about it, but soon everyone heard about it once we got to school. They showed the news while we were in 1st period and said every government building was a target. My mom worked at Fort Bliss at the time and was terrified that it could be next. I can’t believe it’s been 18 years since that day. Tomorrow will be a tough workout… but I encourage everyone to come if they can and honor the victims of the most tragic event in American history the way we as a CrossFit community and culture always do… through a workout with those fellow Americans in mind. 2977 people were killed by that attack and if my math was right, hat will be the exact nimber of reps we will do. A bit more running and rowing, but for a good cause. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow and remembers that day.
