There are a few core values that I hold higher than other things. Owning a business those have been my center thought since January 2nd. It is the character that is CrossFit Legends Of The Wilderness. I believe the character of something and integrity of someone, or in this case something, is what determines the atmosphere that it cultivates and radiates. “The light that shines the farthest, is the light that shines brightest at home.” I don’t know who said that, but I often think of this. What does community mean to you? What does culture mean to you? In our world, we can interchange the words. I love that someone can feel comfortable just bringing in a cake and ask, “When can we sing Happy Birthday?” Right now! Veva is a big person in a compact size 🙂 She has a beautiful family that make this family bigger. She often brings her kiddos in and they just hang out. I’ll see them talking to Jack, saying who knows what, and she has brought in and made her own family part of ours. Many of us get to know such great people like Josh, Steve, and Laura, and Veva brought them all in, the origin of some relationships and people I, personally, am thankful to have. She started CrossFit taking a literal giant leap out of her comfort zone. She’d often tell me she almost didn’t come in today when she first started, and after some time getting to know her better she confessed she would cry in the parking lot fighting the urge to just drive home. Steve was on deployment at the time, so she had a lot on her plate. Now, all I see is this confident, strong, and graceful women. I’ll always keep her story close to my heart. I love as well, that she comes to different classes. It gives so many of us a chance to get to know her, and she at times has become a bridge to one class to the next. I know she doesn’t always get to come in as often as she would like, but this award is for…. family. She embeds that mantra of unity so well. Veva is our LEGEND Of The Month.
And she went to Gadsden… Puro Gadsden Panther Pride!!!
